Instrument Rating

1. Hold a valid Private or Commercial Pilot License.
2. Hold a Class 1 medical certificate.
3. Have a valid Night Rating on your License.
4. Pass a General Radio exam.
5. Successfully pass the online Instrument Rating examination.
6. Complete 40 dual hours of Instrument flying time, of which 20 hours can be done on an approved simulator.
7. Pass a practical flight test with a Designated Flight Examiner.
8. Flown 50 hours cross country time as PIC(Pilot In Command).
9. Once all requirements are met, all documentation is then sent to the SACAA for the inclusion of the Instrument Rating on your License.
